Cheers, The Happy Amigurumi Elephant



MATERIALS NEEDED
DK Yarn in orange, white, black and grey.
3.00 mm hook.
Yarn needle.
Polyester stuffing.
A pair of 6 mm safety eyes.
A stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

sc = single crochet
ss = slip stitch
inc = increase
dec = decrease
st = stitch
sts = stitches
CC = change colour
BLO = in back loops only
FO = fasten off

Work in rounds.
Gauge is not important for this project.

TRUNK & HEAD (with orange)
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
R2: (inc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) x 2 (8)
R3: (BLO) sc in each st across (8)
R4-9: sc in each st across (8)
R10: (inc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) x 2 (10)
R11: (inc in next st, sc in next 4 sts) x 2 (12)
R12: (inc in next, sc in next st) x 3, sc in last 6 sts (15)

EAR (with orange) (make two)
R1: 4 sc in magic ring (don't pull the magic ring too tight, as you will need to go through it again). Ch 1, turn. (4)
R2: inc in each of the 4 sts, ch 1, turn (8)
R3: (sc in next 2 sts, 6 dc in next st) x 2, sc in last 2 sts (4 sc, 12 dc)
R4: 5 sc in magic ring.
Ss into first sc of R3.
Sew ears to head between round 20 and 21.

BODY
Start with black
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
R2: inc x 6 (12)
R3: (sc in next, inc in next) x 6 (18)
R4: (sc in next 2 sts, inc in next) x 6 (24) CC to grey.
R5: sc in each st across (24)
R6: (sc in next 3 sts, inc in next) x 6 (30) CC to white.

Stuff.
Sew to body, using photo as guide.

HAIR
Cut two equal strands of grey yarn, split them and fold them in two.
Attach them at the center of the head between R21 and R22.

FINISHING TOUCHES
With black, embroider eye brows (use photo as guide).
