Fabrizio, the Rainbow Pig

Fabrizio (or Fab, as his friends like to call him) belongs to a very rare and relatively unknown breed: the rainbow pig. He is very shy and doesn't normally like to be photographed, but I managed to catch him in a very good mood after seeing his first double rainbow in the sky. :)

Materials needed:

Acrylic DK or worsted yarn in the colours of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, violet - and a small amount of black for the nostrils.
3 mm crochet hook
a pair of 6 mm safety eyes
polyester stuffing
yarn needle

Abbreviations used:

sc = single crochet
inc = increase
dec = decrease
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
st = stitch
sts = stitches
BLO = in back loops only
FO = fasten off
mr = magic ring
CC = change colour

*This pattern uses American terminology.
**Gauge is not important for this project.

Finishing touches

  1. I made this in an hour and it is super cute! I'll let you know what my pig crazy son thinks when he sees it after school! Thanks for the lovely and simple pattern.

    1. You're very welcome. I'm glad you liked the pattern and I'm looking forward to hear your son's impressions. :)) Have you considered posting your project on Ravelry?

    2. I posted it this morning so everyone can see the photo. I'm going to make another for my daughter to her specific colour requirements! My son loved his and thanked me for making it several times. He has a book about a blue pig that turns rainbow colours after eating lots of vegetables so this was absolutely perfect.

    3. Your little piggy is adorable! Thanks for sharing it. I love the idea of the pig that turns rainbow colours after eating vegetables. :)))
